Self-Portrait Reflection

I think overall the process of creating my self portrait has been very helpful and will continue to be useful in other projects relating to this class. I used charcoal to draw in my hair first in order to get more comfortable with my artist's mark. Then I moved on to my face and went from the bottom up. I struggled with proportions a little bit during this process. In order to solve this problem, I found that taking a picture of my artwork helped quite a bit. With a picture of my artwork, I was able to scroll back and forth with the real life image of me and the drawing in order to find imperfections. This allowed me to fix the proportions of my nose, my smile, and my chin. One thing I want to improve on in future projects is having a more creative idea to start my project. My idea was very basic and I would like to spend more time on my idea in order to get a better result. In general, I thought the process of creating both my artist copy and my self portrait was enjoyable and I would gladly do another similar project.
