Figure Drawing Reflection

The figure drawing workshop was something I enjoyed last year as well as this year. I think that although figure drawing is difficult, seeing the improvement throughout the workshop makes it worth it. This year we learned value in the workshop which I think significantly improved my drawings. The contrast between the lightest and darkest value make the drawings pop and look much more realistic. One thing I struggled with was quickly drawing the model when they were changing poses rapidly. Therefore, I like the longer 10 minute drawings more than the short gesture ones. Another thing that I need to improve on is making the people look like they are alive. Currently I think the lack of eyes on my drawings make the people feel unrealistic, so next time I will make sure to draw eyes to make the people look more living.
