Rosalina Koons is an artist who creates organic sculptures. Koons often creates her sculptures based on her autoimmune illness. Within her work, Koons includes elements of hospital tubing to represent her illness. Koons describes her style of sculpture as alien-like, making her sculptures look as if other planets grew plants. I enjoyed her sculptures, and I thought that every single one of them looked cool. One thing I thought was especially cool was that Koons made her art out of very affordable materials. This is because it shows that anyone can make art like her's. Another thing I thought was really impressive was the amount of time she spends on her artwork. During the lecture, she said that on average it takes her at least 20 hours to create one of her sculptures. This shows her dedication to her sculptures since she is willing to spend so much time on them. One question I still have is, do you have any artist inspirations? I wanted to ask this because I always think it's interesting to compare inspiration to final artwork. Overall, I thought Rosalina Koons was both an amazing and talented artist and I am glad I got to go to her artist lecture!
